week 7 and the joys of assignments whilst being sick

week 7 has come and gone and im sick in time for the holidays yay for me. well as i feel terrible im just posting this and crashing  ols out

week 6 or thoughts of vodka and a lesson in sleep

yay week 6 is done and week 7 is looming its ugly head. week 7 is the time of assignments and the need to hand in these assignments. my assignment is on vodka or  more accurately australian vodka, so I’m immersing this topic and not supprisingly, the water is a bit shallow. But we’ll see what happens.

In other news, it turns out sleep is a good thing and that without it life gets harder. this comes after and night of assignment bingeing and an early start lead to some lack of sleep. This tiredness stayed around for a while, because it turns out that if your over tired, you can’t sleep. This bit of info kept me anti-alert for a few days until daylight saving ended, so i got an extra hour of sleep. So to sum this up, sleep is good, so don’t live without it.

week 5 or the time of assignment confusion and no lecture

hmm this blog is a bit late, but these things happen. Firstly had a rough week trying to decide on the topic for my exhibition. i have gone through numerous ideas but none have seemed right. Firstly there was summer festivals in oz, but the content for that seemed lacking and various copyrights on logos put me off. Then i went for 3 australian breweries, but with the content going to be sparse again, the idea didn’t sit right with me. So i have now chosen to do australian vodka and as i have about 10 days to do this exhibition, so I’m going to stick to this theme and hope it works.

on another note the lecture was not on this week, but many of us, myself included, did not realize and so we went and waited for the lecture to start. Fortunately one of us looked at the unit outline to check the topic of the days lecture and saw the blank space where the lecture topic should have been. So he then informed us of our mistakes and we left the theatre without wasting much of our time. ols out

week 4 or assignment thinking and a lecture of APIS

Firstly, the first assignment is coming up and I’m at the crossroads of choice. This is the place where i need to aim for one of the three choices and commit myself to it. At the moment I’m leaning towards the online exhibition choice, as it would be cool to have something up on the net to show off. Although now i have to think about what it will feature. Fun times ahead. Anyway onto the lecture. the lecture this week was in some respects good, but in others bad. It was good with regards to the interesting features and examples shown throughout the explanation of APIs, but it seemed that it could have been explained in a shorter time period, with another topic explored in the later half. It gave the impression of filler material, which was a bit of a let down. Although it did give me inspiration for the assignment, with the drought photo exhibit made for old parliament house.

week 3 or how to build a website with html text

hmm. I’m just putting it out there, but HTML text looks a little irritating. But this may be due to me not wanting to remember all the different codes that create a site. Oh well, an upside it that it’ll all probably be on the net to look up if i need it. I can also see how useful CSS really is, in regards to managing a website. Spending hours going through a site changing one thing would be annoying. it seems to be an idea that people would have seen in hindsight and hit themselves over the head over not thinking of it before. Although i guess there might have been problems with memory and such. I guess it’s something to look into if i get bored.

The network media course

To mention a few of the things done today in the tutorial.

1. Technorati.com is a good browsing site that i might use later. it looks to be a good site to find more blogs.

2. Google Reader is going to save me heaps of time when i browse the web. I like the ease that you can add sites.

3. Then i made this blog. yay.

The quote

i just tested out the quote feature. I found it was good. This blog site looks easy to use, so i found this was good.

It’s a start

well this is the start of my blogging. It’s near 2:00 on thursday arvo and still im writting a blog. Well cheers to my first post.
